A major goal of CACAN this year is to increase the number of Kalamazoo County students using the Tuition Incentive Program (TIP). The Tuition Incentive Program, currently being administered by the Department of Treasury, encourages high school completion by helping to pay college tuition and mandatory fees for low-income students. Students are also eligible for TIP if they have had Medicaid coverage for 24 months within a 36-consecutive-month period as identified by the Michigan Department of Human Services (DHS). CACAN will be assisting high school counselors throughout the County with TIP eligibility and applications.
